OLYMPIA, Wash. - The College of Idaho women's basketball team rolled past Evergreen, 96-50, on Friday night, using a balanced offensive effort and suffocating defense to pull away early and never look back.
The Yotes opened the game on a strong note, building a 29-16 advantage after one quarter and extending the margin to 53-25 by halftime. College of Idaho held the Geoducks to nine points in both the second and fourth quarters while shooting 46.8 percent from the field and connecting on 13 3-pointers.
Brooke Beresford led all scorers with 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting, adding five rebounds. Freshman Maiya Hardy posted a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds, while also dishing out eight assists. Kylie Waltermeyer and Brooke Beresford each scored 12 points, and Anna Mooney contributed nine points and five assists as the Yotes totaled 30 assists on 37 made field goals.
College of Idaho dominated the boards with a 50-26 rebounding advantage and outscored Evergreen 37-10 in bench points.
Jenna Glenzel paced Evergreen with 19 points, while Bayleigh Harder added 13.
The Yotes improved to 8-3 overall and 2-1 in conference play and will continue their road swing Saturday with a matchup at Northwest University.
