CALDWELL, Idaho — The College of Idaho women's basketball team wrapped up nonconference play on a high note Saturday night, defeating Arizona Christian 71-60 inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.
The Yotes (6-2) used a balanced offensive attack and a dominant effort on the glass to secure their sixth win of the season. C of I outrebounded the Firestorm 51-31 and scored 16 second-chance points to pull away late.
Kylie Waltermeyer led the way with 15 points and six rebounds, knocking down three 3-pointers. Mia Austin added 11 points off the bench, while Anna Mooney chipped in 10 points and a team-high five assists. Brooke Beresford and Maiya Hardy each grabbed 10 rebounds as the Yotes controlled the paint throughout the contest.
C of I shot 37 percent from the field and connected on 10 triples, while holding Arizona Christian to 37 percent shooting. The Yotes' bench contributed 32 points in the victory.
The win closes out nonconference play for the Yotes, who now turn their attention to Cascade Conference action. C of I opens league play Friday, Dec. 5, hosting Walla Walla University at noon inside the Activities Center.
