CALDWELL, Idaho - College of Idaho flexed its depth and efficiency Saturday night, rolling past Pacific Union 87-45 in a nonconference matchup at the J.A. Albertson Activities Center. The Home Team completed a 2-0 weekend at the Title One Tipoff.
The Yotes (5–2) dominated from the opening tip, racing out to a 48–15 halftime lead behind balanced scoring and disruptive defense. College of Idaho forced 18 turnovers and turned them into 27 points while holding the Pioneers (0–6) to just 29.8% shooting from the field.
Dougie Peoples led all scorers with 24 points on 7-of-14 shooting, drilling five 3-pointers and going 5-for-6 at the line. Chance Winter added 10 points and nine rebounds off the bench, while Alex Germer and Rey Johnston chipped in 11 points apiece. Germer also grabbed five rebounds and had two steals.
The Yotes owned a 53–35 advantage on the glass and powered in 40 points in the paint. Their bench contributed 29 points, with Utrillo Morris handing out a team-high five assists.
Pacific Union was paced by Yatsyn Anderson's nine points, while Isaiah Harper added eight points and eight rebounds. The Pioneers struggled to find a rhythm, going 4-for-16 from beyond the arc and converting just seven free throws.
College of Idaho maintained control throughout, leading by as many as 47 in the second half, and never trailed in the game.
The Yotes are on the road next weekend at Arizona Christian before returning home to begin Cascade Conference Play.
