BILLINGS, Mont. — In a match filled with intensity, physical battles, and late drama, The College of Idaho men's soccer team rallied from a second-half deficit to earn a 2–2 draw against Rocky Mountain College on Thursday afternoon.
The result keeps the Yotes (2-3-2, 2-3-1 CCC) in eighth place in the Cascade Collegiate Conference standings, while the Battlin' Bears (3-1-5, 2-1-3 CCC) remain in sixth.
The Yotes struck first just three minutes into the match, as Pierre Fabre buried a low shot off a setup from Brian Ramirez, giving The College of Idaho an early 1–0 lead. But Rocky Mountain responded with goals in the 39th and 60th minutes, flipping the momentum and putting the Yotes on their heels.
With time winding down, the Yotes found their equalizer in the 78th minute. Fabre delivered a curling free kick into the box, where Nico Erlank rose above the defense and headed home the tying goal, silencing the home crowd and salvaging a crucial point on the road.
Despite being outshot 18–7 and conceding seven corner kicks to just one, The College of Idaho made the most of its chances. Keeper Matej Hron stood tall under pressure, recording four saves in a busy first half.
The match was marred by physical play, with six yellow cards issued to The College of Idaho and five to Rocky Mountain, as both teams battled for control in a tense conference showdown.
The Yotes continue their road swing Saturday with a visit to Carroll College. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. as The College of Idaho looks to build momentum heading into the second half of the CCC season.
