EUGENE, Ore. – The No. 4-ranked College of Idaho men's basketball team showcased its depth and efficiency in a dominant 79-57 road victory over Bushnell University on Friday night at the Morse Center.
The Yotes (19-2, 14-1 CCC) showed how dominant they could be as they showered 21 unanswered points on the home team midway through the first half. After the barrage, the Yotes led 30-8 and never looked back. The well balanced attack saw eleven Yotes pounce on the score sheet and four players reaching double digits.
Guard Samaje Morgan led the Yotes' backcourt with 12 points and a game-high six assists, providing steady playmaking throughout the night. Forward Straton Rogers was highly efficient, scoring 12 points on 6-of-8 shooting while also grabbing six rebounds. Tyler Robinett added 12 points of his own, while Johnny Radford contributed 11 points and seven rebounds in the victory.
The Yotes' offensive execution was evident, as they shot 47.0% from the field, a stark contrast to Bushnell's 27.5% shooting performance. College of Idaho also capitalized on mistakes, outscoring the Beacons 12-9 in points off turnovers and dominating the paint with a 46-22 scoring advantage down low.
The Yotes look to continue their momentum tomorrow as they travel to take on Corban Univ. who is the only conference team to defeat them this season so far. Tip-off is scheduled for 4pm MT.
