Yotes Dominate the Knights: Records Fall, Crowds Roar in Historic Week

CALDWELL, Idaho — The College of Idaho men's basketball team closed out an unforgettable week with a commanding 95-45 victory over Warner Pacific on Saturday evening at the J.A. Albertson Activities Center. The win completed a week filled with milestones, three convincing victories, and record-breaking crowds.

The Yotes (16-2, 11-1 CCC) asserted control early, jumping out to a 10-3 lead with Drew Wyman scoring at will in the paint and Straton Rogers dominating the boards. Johnny Radford caught fire from the field, propelling the team to a 41-21 halftime lead with a mix of three-point shooting and clutch free throws.

Radford led all scorers with 19 points, including a flawless 8-of-8 from the free-throw line. Dougie Peoples added 14 points, hitting four three-pointers, while Drew Wyman contributed 14 points on 70% shooting.

Utrillo Morris was the engine behind the Yotes' offense, leading the team with six assists while adding seven points and two steals. His court vision and ability to orchestrate plays were instrumental in the Yotes' efficient offensive performance, which saw them shoot 50% from the field and tally 16 total assists.

On the defensive end, Paul Wilson anchored the paint with 10 rebounds and three blocks, while Rogers added nine boards and two assists. The Yotes' reserves were also critical, contributing 45 points and keeping the intensity high throughout the game.

Warner Pacific (8-9, 3-9 CCC) struggled to break through the Yotes' stifling defense, shooting just 30.4% from the field and committing 20 turnovers. Tre'von Cason led the Knights with seven points off the bench.

This week was historic for the Yotes, as they celebrated two major records. Paul Wilson set the program's career blocks record on Tuesday, solidifying his reputation as a defensive stalwart. On Friday, Johnny Radford became the all-time leader in career three-pointers made, showcasing his consistency and shooting prowess.

With a massive boost from the Yotefam—who packed the stands for the three largest crowds of the season—the Yotes ended their week on a high note. They now look to carry their momentum into another week of Cascade Conference action.
