KIRKLAND, Wash. — Samaje Morgan etched his name into College of Idaho history Friday night, scoring his 1,000th career point during the Yotes' commanding 86-64 win over Northwest University. Morgan, now one of just 34 players in program history to achieve this milestone, finished the night with 12 points, four assists, and two rebounds.
The Yotes (12-2, 7-1 CCC) were led offensively by Johnny Radford, who tallied 15 points on 6-of-13 shooting, including three three-pointers. On the boards, Straton Rogers and Drew Wyman shared top honors, each grabbing nine rebounds to fuel the Yotes' dominance in the paint.
Statistically, the Yotes asserted control across key metrics. They shot an efficient 45.3% from the field compared to the Eagles' 37.1%, while winning the rebounding battle 41-30. The Yotes converted their hustle into 19 second-chance points, nearly doubling Northwest's total of nine. Bench production was another standout for the Yotes, who outscored the Eagles' reserves 40-29.
Turnovers also played a significant role in the game's outcome. The Yotes forced 12 Northwest miscues while committing only seven themselves, translating into a 15-9 edge in points off turnovers.
The Yotes continue their road trip tomorrow, facing Evergreen State College at 6 p.m. MT.
