CALDWELL, Idaho – The College of Idaho beach volleyball team brought to its new courts local rival and NCAA Division I foe, Boise State University for a matchup on Tuesday.
For the first-year program, the College of Idaho saw first hand where it is and where it wants to be when it took on the Broncos. Just a few days after qualifying for the NAIA West Beach Volleyball Qualifier, April 11-13, the Yotes stepped up to the challenge.
Boise State left the courts with a 5-0 victory but it was not indicative of a tireless effort by the College of Idaho program. The match began with the Boise State No. 4 and No. 2 pairs pick up wins by a 21-10, 21-13 margin and 21-8, 21-14 advantage for the early lead in the contest.
As the No. 1, 3 and 5 pairs came to the courts, BSU clinched the match with a 21-11, 21-10 win at No. 5. The Broncos went on to win at No. 1 by a 21-9, 21-10 and at No. 3, 21-12, 21-11.
