La Grande, Ore. – As the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championship comes closer, the College of Idaho men's and women's track and field teams competed at the EOU Open on Friday. The Yotes recorded 33 PRs and nine season best performances on the day.
On the women's side,
Kylee Quinton was the first across the finish line in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 12:06.80 and
Addison Trent took first in the long jump with a leap of 17-4.75 (5.30m).
In the field events,
Star Herron was second in the hammer with a toss of 174-7 (53.21m) and four of her teammates –
Tiffany Tone,
Soa Moliga,
Janika Barker and
Kay Reed each had PRs on the day.
Sara Vanderwyk won the triple jump with a leap of 34-5 (10.49m) just a .25 of an inch ahead of teammate
Mattie Shirts.
Jada Kinser recorded a pair of season-best performances with a time of 13.87 in the 100m dash and in the long jump with a leap of 16-3.25 (4.96m).
Ruby Stewart crossed the finish line in a PR of 16.28 in the 100m hurdles and Trent also set a PR in the 200m with a time of 26.56.
For the College of Idaho men, in the field events,
Tanner Sackman posted a pair of PRs in the hammer throw (175-2/53.41m) and discus (137-1/41.80m). In the triple jump,
Eli Hayes was victorious with a leap of 43-9.75 (13.35m) and
Bryan St. Clair had a PR with a leap of 40-7.75 (12.39m).
On the track,
Oclan Ryan posted a PR in the 800 in 1:56.16;
Hunter Agsten set a PR in the 1500 with a time of 4:13.51. In the final running event of the day,
Zach Curtsinger,
Keegan Croteau,
Tanner Macy and
Hunter Gilbert clocked a season-best time of 3:23.49 to win the 4x400m relay.
