College of Idaho Baseball Drops Pair to UBC

Vancouver, B.C. – The University of British Columbia took two games from College of Idaho baseball on Saturday. The host Thunderbirds swept the doubleheader, winning game one by an 11-1 margin and game two, 7-2.
 
Game one saw UBC score five runs in the first and another in the second on its way to the 11-1 win. The Yotes had just five hits in the contest with a double by Matthew Iwamizu and a triple by Austin Moon. C of I got its lone run on a Chandler Stocking sacrifice fly.
 
For UBC, six-different players had at least two hits and three of which had multiple RBI for ample support for starting Ryan Beitel, who went six innings allowed just three hits and struck out three in the win to raise his record to 2-1.
 
Game two saw the bats for UBC come alive late in the contest as College of Idaho tied the contest at one in the top of the fifth. UBC regained the lead in its half of the inning. They also added two each in the sixth and seventh on its way to a 7-2 win.
 
Limited to just three hits, College of Idaho surrendered 14 hits to UBC in the loss. Six-different Thunderbirds had multiple hits in the win. J.aden Lamothe and Kaden Zarowney had three and two RBIs, respectively.
 
The series will wrap up on Sunday with a noon first pitch.
