Snohomish, Wash. – The College of Idaho beach volleyball recorded a major milestone in its inaugural season with its first win as they defeated host Northwest, 4-1 on Friday afternoon at the NW Beach Volleyball Complex.
College of Idaho (1-1) won three of the matches in straight-set fashion over their Eagles counterparts. The first win on the day came when the No. 2 team of
Faith Faucher and
Althea Sandoval were winners by a 22-20, 16-21, 15-12 margin. The next victory came at No. 4 when
Clair Hodge and
Greta Valaika were winners, 21-18, 21-9. The third win on the day came when
Keylee Wilson and
Ellie Baker won at No. 5 by scores of 21-5, 21-17. The victory by Wilson and Baker clinched the victory for the Yotes.
The final victory of the day for College of Idaho was the second on the season for the team of
Emily Vandenberg and
Liza Montalbo were winners, 21-18 and 21-9.
Next, on Saturday, College of Idaho will face Bushnell at 10 a.m. and Southern Oregon at 2 p.m.
