ASHLAND, Ore. – The College of Idaho beach volleyball era began with the Cascade Conference beach volleyball circuit hosted by Southern Oregon University.
The Yotes took on host SOU for the first matchup in program history on Friday. In the contest, College of Idaho dropped a 4-1 decision to the host Raiders.
Picking up the first win in program history was the No. 3 tandem of
Liza Montalbo and
Emily Vandenberg, who defeated Lucretia Benolken and Taylor Jackson (SOU) by scores of 21-15, 24-22. The No. 5 team of
Ellie Baker and
Keylee Wilson nearly had the second victory of the day dropping a 21-11, 16-21, 15-11 decision to the Raiders' Natalie Perez and Natasha Perez.
On Saturday, College of Idaho will face No. 4 Corban at noon and Northwest at 4 p.m. to wrap up the opening weekend of action.
