Record-Setting Night by McKenzie Hirsch Leads College of Idaho to 61-50 Win Over Warner Pacific

CALDWELL, Idaho - College of Idaho sophomore McKenzie Hirsch went a perfect 7-for-7 from the field, making all four of her 3-point attempts en route to 18 points in a 61-50 win over Warner Pacific. The 7-for-7 effort by Hirsch is the best single-game field goal percentage effort with a minimum of seven field goals in program history.

Hirsch was joined in double figures by Brooke Beresford, who nearly had a double double with 12 points and nine rebounds in the win as College of Idaho raised its record to 7-16 overall and 7-10 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference.

Warner Pacific (6-15, 4-13 CCC) got a team-high 12 from McKeeley Tonkin as they shot 31.6% from the field and were held to 1 of 16 from the 3-point line.

Despite a stifling defensive effort in the first 10 minutes by College of Idaho, Warner Pacific held a 12-10 lead after the first quarter. In the opening 10 minutes, the Yotes held the Knights to 23.1% shooting. The second quarter saw the two teams tied on five occasions until Hirsch hit her first of four 3-pointers to put the Yotes ahead for nearly the rest of the contest.

In the second half, the Knights tied the game at 29 with 8:16 left in the third quarter. Then, a 10-2 run by the host Yotes put College of Idaho ahead for the remainder of the game. Later in the game, on three instances, the Yotes went up by 11 on WPU including the final margin.

The win is the 35th in the series between the two teams for College of Idaho, who extends its winning streak in the matchup to four games.

Next up for College of Idaho is a 3 p.m. matchup on Saturday against Multnomah.
