College of Idaho Women's Basketball Returns to Winning Ways in 76-65 Win Over Walla Walla

The College of Idaho women's basketball team made its first five 3-pointers on its way to a 76-65 win over Walla Walla on Saturday.

The Yotes (6-16, 6-10 CCC) went on to make 13 3-pointers in the win as Mia Austin was a perfect 5-for-5 from the 3-point line as she paced College of Idaho with 15 points. She was joined in double figures by Brooke Beresford, who nearly had a double double with 13 points and nine rebounds.

Walla Walla (714, 4-12 CCC) was led by a double double from Chariah Daniels, who had a game-high 17 points to go along with a game-high 12 rebounds. She was joined in double figures by reserves Maren Jones and Natalee Trevino, who had 12 and 10 points, respectively.
 
College of Idaho led from start-to-finish in the contest and held a lead as large as 17 on its way to the win. The visitors from Caldwell started the game on a 13-4 run to begin the contest. The game opening spurt saw College of Idaho make a 3-pointer on three-consecutive possessions as Kylie Waltermeyer, Austin and Bryanna Graham each hit a triple.
 
After building a lead as large as a game-high 17 points early into the fourth quarter, the host Wolves scored nine of the first 11 points of the fourth quarter to make it an eight-point game, 66-58, with 7:09 left. College of Idaho scored the next five points to push the lead back to 13 and twice, Walla Walla managed to get as close as eight on a pair of occasions.
 
The Yotes will come back to town for its next two games where they will face Warner Pacific on Friday at 5:30 p.m. and Multnomah on Saturday at 3 p.m.
