CALDWELL, Idaho –
Kylie Waltermeyer scored a season-high 17 points to lead College of Idaho women's basketball in a 66-61 loss to Bushnell on Friday night.
Bushnell (16-11, 12-9 CCC) erased a deficit to as large as nine in the first quarter when they scored 15 of the first 19 points of the second quarter to take a 25-22 lead with 4:20 left in the second quarter as Aspen Slifka knocked down a pair of free throws. The Beacons remained in front nearly for the rest of the contest.
Slifka finished the contest with a game-high 22 points to go along with eight rebounds for the Beacons. She was joined in double figures as Mandy Sisul added 15 and Libby Mathis scored 1l, who nearly had a double double with nine rebounds.
To go along with the 17 points by Waltermeyer,
Brooke Beresford also picked up 15 points for C of I, who falls to 9-18 overall and 9-12 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference.
Despite the second quarter surge by the visitors, College of Idaho tied the gone contest at 33 with :17 left in the half but Slifka made a jumper with :06 left to put the visitors up by two at the halftime break A 9-2 run early in the third quarter by the visitors put Bushnell ahead for the rest of the contest, who would build the lead to as large as 11 on four occasions.
Next, College of Idaho will host Corban on Saturday at 3 p.m. as part of Senior Day. Following the contest, the Yotes will recognize
