Salem, Ore. - The College of Idaho men's soccer team battled through rainy conditions to secure a decisive 2-0 victory against Corban University on Saturday. With this win, the Yotes improved their overall record to 9-3-2 and 7-3-1 in conference play.
The Yotes showcased their offensive strength, outshooting Corban 16-9, with 6 shots on goal compared to the Warriors' 3. College of Idaho goalkeeper
Ben Anderson made crucial saves, recording three saves in just under 40 minutes of play before being replaced by
Matej Hron.
Dani Alejos opened the scoring for the Yotes in the 27th minute with an unassisted goal.
Jorge Fernandez added a second goal in the 73rd minute, also unassisted, solidifying the team's lead.
The Yotes faced a physical match, accruing 14 fouls compared to Corban's 19. The rainy weather conditions tested both teams, but The College of Idaho maintained composure and controlled the pace of the game.
The Yotes will next host Warner Pacific on November 1st at Simplot Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 PM.
