Resilient Yotes Battle Back to Earn 3-3 Draw

LA GRANDE, Ore. – In a thrilling Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Game of the Week, the College of Idaho Yotes displayed their fighting spirit yet again, battling back from a 3-1 deficit to earn a dramatic 3-3 draw against Eastern Oregon on the road. This marks the third straight game where the Yotes have clawed their way back after trailing.

The game seemed all but over when Eastern Oregon extended their lead to 3-1 in the 69th minute with a goal from Daniel Kropf. However, the Yotes refused to back down. Jorge Fernandez breathed life back into the team with a goal in the 77th minute, cutting the deficit to 3-2. Then, with just over two minutes remaining, Pol Romero found the back of the net in the 89th minute, leveling the score in dramatic fashion.

The Yotes trailed 1-0 at halftime after a first-half goal from Eastern Oregon's Jahrie Gray. Though Pierre Fabre tied the game early in the second half, Eastern Oregon responded quickly with two more goals to regain control. But College of Idaho, undeterred, showed their resilience to come back yet again.

Tensions ran high throughout the match, with a total of six yellow cards shown—four to College of Idaho players, and two to Eastern Oregon, further adding to the intensity of the contest?

With this result, the Yotes now sit fourth in the CCC standings with four games remaining in the regular season. They'll continue their campaign on October 25th, when they take on Bushnell University in Eugene, Ore., with a 3 p.m. kickoff.
