CALDWELL, Idaho - The College of Idaho women's basketball team started the 2024 portion of its season with an 81-60 rout of Walla Walla on Friday afternoon. Bryanna Graham knocked down five 3-pointers on her way to 22 points, teammates Mia Austin and Brooke Beresford added 12 and 15 points. Beresfod pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds on her way to her first career double double.
College of Idaho (3-10, 3-6 CCC) stretched an early 4-2 lead and managed to lead for nearly the rest of the game. The Yotes put up a season-high 30 points in the second quarter on its way to a 50-33 halftime advantage.
Walla Walla (5-7, 2-5 CCC) was paced by 13 points by Jaliyah Casem. Teammate Chariah Daniels scored 12 put two in double figures.
Where the offense highlighted the first 20 minutes, the Yotes used its defense in the third quarter as they limited Walla Walla to just eight points in the third quarter. College of Idaho went up as much as 31 in the third quarter. Walla Walla would get as close as 21 in the final 10 minutes.
Next, College of Idaho will host No. 5 LC State on Saturday at 3 p.m. It will be the third nationally-ranked team that the Yotes will face in 2023-24.
