CALDWELL, Idaho – Visiting Evergreen outscored College of Idaho by a 13-7 margin in the extra period for a 68-62 win on Saturday.
A 24-point effort from Sydney Vanness, who made 12 of 20 shots from the field as the Geoducks improved to 4-9, 4-7 CCC. Six of her 24 came in the extra period to lead Evergreen. Jenna Glenzel added 19, plus Jalyn Sackridger had a double double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
College of Idaho (5-13, 5-7 CCC) was led by the double double from senior Emma Anderson, who scored 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the loss. McKenzie Hirsch led the host Yotes with 11 points, plus Anna Mooney added 10.
Sackrider and the Geoducks tied the game at 55 to culminate a 5-0 run, but the two teams remained scoreless over the next two minutes to force the extra period. The two teams were tied two more times in the extra period before an 8-0 run over the next two-plus minutes put the visitors ahead for the remainder of the contest. A comeback effort by the host Yotes never materialized as they missed four of their final five shots in the defeat.
