Brooke Beresford had her third double double of the season to lead three Yotes in double figures as College of Idaho defeated Northwest, 71-62 on Friday night.

Beresford scored 12 points and pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds for the Yotes, who improved to 5-16 overall and 4-6 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference with the win. Teammates
Anna Mooney (14) and
Mia Austin (13) joined her in double figures.

Northwest (3-11, 3-6 CCC) also had a player with a double double as Kylie Lunday had 13 points and 13 rebounds, she was joined in double figures by Alli VanKooten and Kyrin Baklund, who had 13 and 12 points, respectively.

The matchup saw the game tied on nine occasions and six lead changes. With the game tied at 31 in the third quarter,
Bryanna Graham put College of Idaho ahead for the rest of the contest when she knocked down a pair of free throws. On three occasions in the rest of the third quarter, the host Yotes managed to stretch the lead to as much as five.
Northwest cut the deficit to four, 66-62 when Katie Fleming hit a 3-pointer with :24 left in the contest. The Yotes sealed the win, making five of its last six free throws for the final margin.

For the game, College of Idaho shot 90.6% (29-for-32) from the free-throw line. The last time that Yotes made 29 free throws in a game was last year against Willamette and the 90.6% effort was the most since they made all 11 free throws at Northwest on January 15, 2022. Northwest was held to 32.4% shooting from the field as the Yotes outrebounded the Eagles by a 50-42 margin.
