Salem, Ore. – The 18-degree temperature outside was no match for the hot-shooting efforts of No. 5 College of Idaho as they cruised to a 101-68 win over Bushnell on Saturday night. College of Idaho shot 56.1% (37 of 66) from the field as five Yotes scored in double figures as
Johnny Radford paced the team with a game-high 20 points.
Radford made six 3-pointers in the win and he was joined in double figures by
Drew Wyman (13),
Alex Germer (12),
Tyler Robinett (11) and
Jake O'Neil (10). The five combined to make 15 of the 17 3-pointers for the College of Idaho, who raise their record to 14-2 and 9-1 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. Plus, off the bench for the Yotes,
Paul Wilson had seven points and nine rebounds.
Bushnell, who falls to 9-5 and 6-2 in the CCC, were paced by a 14-point effort from Steve Schlabach. He was joined in double figures by Kaden Sand, who had 11.
The first nine minutes of the game saw College of Idaho build a 28-8 lead on the host Beacons on its way to the victory. In the opening spurt, saw the Yotes make four of their first six 3 pointers and score the first 16 points of the game to set the tone in the contest. Bushnell managed to get the deficit down to 14 on a pair of occasions in the rout.
The win is the third game on the season that College of Idaho has hit the 100-point mark as the Yotes extend their winning streak on the season to nine games. In the win, College of Idaho knocked down a season-high 17 3-pointers and Radford broke out of an 0-for-8 slump on 3-pointers to make a season-high six in the win.
Next, College of Idaho will face Northwest University on Friday, January 19 at 7:30 p.m.
