College of Idaho Leads from Start to Finish in 75-67 Win Over Corban

SALEM, Ore. – The College of Idaho women's basketball team raised its record to 4-11 overall and 4-5 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference with a 75-67 win over host Corban on Friday evening.

College of Idaho was paced by a 24-point effort from freshman Brooke Beresford, who set a season-high for the first- year player from Woodinville, Wash. She was joined in double figures by Emma Anderson (13) and Mia Austin (12). The 13 points by Anderson ties a career high and she also grabbed eight rebounds in the win.

Corban, who falls to 5-9 overall and 4-4 in CCC play, was paced by a 17-point effort from Maddie Godwin.

The Yotes started the game on a 13-2 run and shot a blistering 71.4% (10-for-14) from the field in the first quarter on its way to an early 25-14 lead on the host Warriors. Beresford scored nine of her 24 points to give a spark to the visitors from Caldwell, Idaho. College of Idaho remained in the lead for the remainder of the contest on its way to the win as Corban managed to cut the deficit to as little as five in the contest.

The 75 points scored by College of Idaho are the most by the Yotes in a road game in 2023-24 as they dished out 16 assists for the fourth time on the season to match a season high. Kylie Waltermeyer handed out a team-best six assists in the win. The six assists by Waltermeyer match an individual season high for a C of I player as Jada Reed had six helpers in the contest at Multnomah on December 15, 2023.

Next, College of Idaho will face Bushnell on Saturday, January 13 at 3 p.m. (PST)/4 p.m. (MT).
