ROCKLIN, Calif. - The Yotes men's soccer team was 13 minutes away from a draw in the season opener against Jessup, falling to the Warriors by a score of 1-0.
The Yotes offense had the upper hand in the first half, taking five shots in the opening frame with two of them on goal, leading to a pair of corner kicks. The physical first half saw a combined 13 fouls with one yellow card.
In the second half, the Yotes would continue applying the pressure, firing off another nine shots in the frame. A scoring chance with 30 minutes to play was wiped away after a yellow card from the Jessup goalkeeper. In the 78th minute of action, Jessup's Albert Barillas was able to put the ball into the back of the Yotes net on a header, coming off a feed from Paolo Ionescu.

Ben Anderson was able to record two saves in his College of Idaho debut, while
Eric Hornung recorded two shots on goal.
The Yotes will look to get into the win column on Sunday against Simpson University in Redding.
