Led by a first and third-place finish in the 3,000m steeplechase to start the championship, the College of Idaho women's track and field team is in third with 75 points. British Columbia leads the team race with 105 points, followed by host Eastern Oregon with 87.5 points.
In the 3,000m steeplechase,
Sage Martin clocked a time of 10:52.75 to secure the individual title, followed by
Larissa Mauer, who was third in 11:33.64. Martin becomes the fourth Yote to win the event in program history joining Sora Klopfenstein (2013, 2014), Tamika Russell (2017, 2018) and Mauer (2021).
The end of the opening saw
Ellyse Tingelstad repeat in the 10,000m run with a winning time of 37:26.64. College of Idaho has dominated the event, winning it for the last five years. She is the program's first repeat champion among the seven winners.
Molly Connor was fourth in a NAIA "B" qualifying time of 38:08.21 and
Emma Campbell took seventh in 43:59.29.
In addition, the women had three runner-up performances including –
Abbey Shirts in the 1500m run with a time of 4:28.30,
Star Herron in the shot put, who hit a NAIA "B" mark with a toss of 43-6 (13.26m) and the 4x100m relay team of
Chloe Barylski,
Addison Trent,
Charlotte Bowman and
Sage Wood with a NAIA "A" qualifying time of 47.51. Plus, Trent took third to earn all-conference honors in the long jump with a NAIA "A" qualifying and a school record leap of 19-3.5 (5.88m).
The women also got points from a sixth-place finish with a clearance of 5-2.5 (1.59m) in the high jump by
Morgan Harrison, a pair of seventh-place finishes in the 1500m from
Kahea Figueira and
Taylor Durfey in the hammer with a toss of 151-5 (46.17m).
