CALDWELL, Idaho - The Yotes and Warriors both saw their bats come alive in the finale of the weekend series, combining for 30 hits as the Yotes would fall to the Warriors by a score of 11-6.
Tristen Garland and
Skyler Sadora each had remarkable games, recording four hits each for the Yotes offense. Garland would rip the first pitch he saw for hits in the bottom of the first and third innings. Sadora would end the game with another three RBI's to cap off his impressive weekend.
Alex McFarland-Smith,
Ben Gaff, and
Ben Hansen would each record two hits in the contest.
The Yotes and Warriors went back-and-forth through the third and fourth innings, as the Yotes would match runs that the Warriors would put up. Isaac Haws got the scoring started for LCSC on a balk in the third inning. The Yotes would match that as Denison would drive in a run following a ground out. The Warriors then got a run on a Sam Olsson double to left field, making the game 2-1. The Yotes then answered with one of their own as Sadora drove in the first of his runs on the day on a double to left field, which scored Garland.
The Warriors would then proceed to score eight unanswered runs, including a Nick Seamons triple to center field and the run was capped off with three home runs coming from Pu'ukani De Sa, Jakob Marquez, and Carter Booth. The long ball from Booth in the sixth would deal a big blow to the Yotes as three runs would come across to score. However,
Skyler Sadora was able to hit his second home run of the weekend to right field in the eighth, making it an 11-5 game at that point.
Kirby Robertson followed it up with a single to right field to drive in a run to round out the scoring, as the Warriors would come out on top.
Decker Stedman saw his record improve to 3-0, pitching five innings on the mound and striking out three Yote batters.
Nate Vidlak was tabbed with the loss, pitching 4.1 innings and allowing four earned runs.
The Yotes will return to the diamond next weekend, traveling to Oregon to face Corban in a weekend set.
