Sadora's Three-Run Blast Earns the Yotes Splitting With No. 13 LCSC

CALDWELL, Idaho - Skyler Sadora hit a three-run blast in the sixth in game two of the doubleheader which earned the Yotes a split with No. 13 LCSC, losing the first game 14-4 before taking the nightcap by a score of 9-5.

Game One

Multiple hit performances were hard to come by for the Yotes in the first game of the doubleheader, as Skyler Sadora and Ben Gaff were the only two to record at least two hits. The Yotes got the scoring started right off the bat, scoring twice in the first inning. Sadora singled to right center to scoring Jonah Hultberg. Ben Gaff then followed it up with a double to left field, scoring Sadora. The Warriors were then able to tie the game at two following a Dominic Signorelli double and a Jakob Marquez sacrifice fly.

The Yotes were then able to push another run across as Hultberg singled to left field. From then on, it was all about LCSC, dominating in the offense from there on out. The Warriors would tack on six runs over the third and fourth innings to take a 9-3 lead heading into the bottom of the fourth. That's when Tristen Garland drove in a run which scored Jake Denison. The Warrior offense in game one was capped off with home runs from Jakob Marquez and Carter Booth.

Joe Ball earned the game one win, improving his record to 1-0, pitching four innnings in relief. Jackson Cummins was tabbed with the game one loss, pitching three innings while allowing four runs.

Game Two

Four Yotes had at least two hits, as Skyler Sadora, Ben Gaff, Jake Denison, and Ben Hansen all led the way on the offensive side of the ball. The Warriors started off the game hot, scoring four runs over the first three innings of the game courtesy of a two-run shot from Isaiah Thomas and a solo blast from Nick Seamons.

From then on, it was all about the Yotes. A four-run third inning tied the game. Sadora tallied the first of his hits on an infield single to third base. Kris Kirkpatrick drove in a run on a sacrifice fly, making it a two-run game. Ben Hansen added an RBI single of his own, followed by Denison scoring following an error to tie the game at four following three innings of play.

In the sixth, with the game tied at four, Skyler Sadora delivered. A two-out, three-run blast delivered the knockout blow to the No. 13 Warriors, as Hultberg and Hutton Stiles would come across the plate. Kirkpatrick and Denison each delivered RBI knocks, capping off a five-run inning, taking a 9-4 lead heading into the seventh. The Warriors would have the bases loaded in the ninth, but only managed to score one run as the Yotes took the nightcap by a score of 9-5. The Warriors would end the game leaving 15 runners on base, including leaving the bases loaded three times.

Kirby Robertson earned the game two win, his second win of the series, pitching 6.1 innings of relief, throwing just over 100 pitches, allowing two runs and striking out five. Jantzen Lucas was tabbed with the loss, pitching 2.2 innings in relief.

The Yotes and Warriors will round out the weekend set on Sunday at 11 a.m. at Wolfe Field.
