BROOKINGS, S.D. - The College of Idaho women's track team saw runners garner All-American status on Saturday, competing in the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships, taking place in South Dakota.
The first Yote to earn her All-American status was
Sage Martin, taking fifth place in the women's mile run with a time of 4:55.11, which surpasses her preliminary time by four seconds, with her previous mark coming at 4:59.14. The second individual who earned All-American status was
Abbey Shirts, finishing the 1000m run with a time of 2:55.39 in fifth place.Â
In the 3000m finals,
Ellyse Tingelstad finished in ninth place with a time of 9:58.02. In the women's distance medley relay, the College of Idaho team of
Abbey Shirts,
Sage Martin,
Sage Wood, and
Kahea Figueira took third place, finishing just behind Huntington and Milligan with a time of 11:51.89.
"We are thrilled with how today went. Really happy with how the runners competed," added head coach
Dominic Bolin. "Our whole team was great this week, and we are excited for the outdoor season."
