LEWISTON, Idaho - The College of Idaho fell on Monday to No. 2 Lewis-Clark State by a score of 9-4, as the Warriors were able to complete the four game sweep.
Skyler Sadora tallied a multi-hit performance for the Yotes, going 2-4 with a double on the day.
Alex McFarland-Smith also recorded an RBI double, which was his only hit of the contest. The Warriors started the scoring early, on a pair of RBI doubles from Sam Olsson and Dominic Signorelli in the bottom of the first inning. The next three Warrior runs came on a pair of singles and a double.
The Yotes were able to break through in the scoring column in the fourth inning, as McFarland-Smith doubled to right center, driving in a run.
Jordan Kelly followed that up with a single which drove in McFarland, making the score 5-2. In the top of the eighth inning,
Jonah Hultberg hit his second long ball of the weekend, and his third of the season, which drove in
Tristen Garland. The Warriors responded with a pair of home runs in the bottom of the eighth to take the 9-4 win.
Jake Green earned his first win of the season, pitching three innings in relief, allowing two hits and striking out a pair.
Ben Gaff got his first pitching start of the season, as his record dropped to 0-1.
The Yotes will be back in action this Wednesday at Wolfe Field as Eastern Oregon comes to Caldwell for a non-conference game.
