LEWISTON, Idaho - The College of Idaho baseball team fell to No. 2 Lewis-Clark State on Sunday in game three of the series, the final score standing at 9-8 in favor of the Warriors.
The Yotes saw six players with multi-hit performanes, including
Tristen Garland,
Jonah Hultberg,
Ben Gaff,
Jordan Kelly,
Jake Denison, and
Dillon Danner, as they would tally 14 of the team's 16 hits in the game.
College of Idaho wasted no time getting the offense going, as
Jonah Hultberg homered in the first inning to jumpstart the Yote lead. In the second inning,
Dillon Danner singled up the middle, followed by a Hultberg triple as the Yotes would take a quick 4-0 lead over the Warriors. The Warriors would strike for five runs between the second and third innings to take a one run lead at 5-4.
In the fourth, Garland singled to tie the game at five, followed by a
Jordan Kelly double as the Yotes got the lead right back. A bases loaded walk from
Skyler Sadora saw the Yotes stretch the lead to 8-5 in the eighth inning. In the ninth, the Warriors tallied four runs on four singles to take a walk-off win, taking the final by a score of 9-8.
Bryson Spagnuolo earned his first win of the season, pitching an inning and a third while only allowing three hits.
Kaden Lapp was tabbed with the game three loss, as his record drops to 0-1.
The Yotes and Warriors take the field for the final game of the series tomorrow in Lewiston.
