KIRKLAND, Wash. – Three members of the College of Idaho women's basketball team scored in double figures, including senior
Lexi Mitchell, who nearly had a triple double as the Yotes defeated host Northwest, 71-64 to secure a spot in the upcoming Cascade Collegiate Conference Tournament.
College of Idaho (14-13, 9-12 CCC) were paced by a team-high 17 point effort from reserve
Bryanna Graham. She was joined in double figures by Mitchell and
Kenadee French, who had 15 and 13 points, respectively. Mitchell grabbed nine rebounds and eight assists, falling just short of a triple double.
Northwest (8-18, 6-15 CCC) was led by the double double from Kylie LUnday, who had 16 ponts and 10 rebounds. Kyrin Backlund and Maya Duchesne added 17 and 15 points, respectively.
Seven unanswered points erased an early deficit as the Yotes went ahead 11-8 and for the remainder of the contest. College of Idaho went on to take a 23-12 lead on the Eagles in the first quarter, shooting 61.5% (8-for-13) from the field in the first 10 minutes. Graham scored eight of her 17 and Mitchell had four points, six assists and four rebounds for College of Idaho. Northwest managed to get as close as six in the final quarter.
Next, the Yotes will face Evergreen in the regular season finale at 3 p.m. (PT)/4 p.m. (MT).
