Head Coach Kyle Erickson Picks Up First Win

CALDWELL, Idaho – A career night for Mia Austin led the way for the College of Idaho women's basketball team to record the first win of the Kyle Erickson era, taking down 18th-ranked Eastern Oregon, 69-63.

The Yotes got off to a fast start thanks to the red-hot shooting of sophomore Austin. Austin had a team high 11 points in the first half while shooting 3-5 from three, including two massive threes in the first half. Bryanna Graham also made her mark in the first 20 minutes of play, scoring nine points off the bench, including a pair of three pointers, as the Yotes were able to lead the Mountaineers through the first half.

The second half for Austin was no different, dumping in another 15 points, which set a new career high of 26. The Yotes were also led by Bryanna Graham, scoring 16 points off the bench including a couple critical buckets to spark the Yotes. Kylie Waltermeyer contributed 10, as three Yotes scored in double-digits.

Eastern Oregon was led the first half by Bayley Brennan, who came out of the gates hot, nailing two threes within the first few minutes, going a perfect 4-4 in the half, including 3-3 from beyond the arc. Brie Holocek also made her mark on offense in the opening two quarters, recording six points.

Brennan, following an impressive first half, scored a team high 25 in the loss for EOU. The only other Mountaineer in double figures was Beverly Slater, who scored 10. The Yotes held EOU to 37.9% shooting from the floor, including 10-32 from three.
