GLENDALE, Ariz. – No. 12 College of Idaho posted a 56-17 win over Arizona Christian, recording eight touchdowns from eight-different players.
All the scoring saw the Yotes put up 237 yards and two touchdowns on the ground and 237 more through the air and four touchdowns. One of the biggest touchdowns of the night was a 100-yard kickoff return by
Caden Cobb that put the visitors ahead 28-10 to start the second half.
The last Yote to return a kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown is Ted Martin, who's number seven is the only retired number in program history. Furthermore, the last kickoff return for a touchdown at College of Idaho was by Elijah Carter against Pacific in the first game in the return of Yotes football on September 6, 2014.
College of Idaho had a strong representation in Arizona for the contest.

Jon Schofield scored two more touchdowns – one on the ground and one receiving. Schofield has 14 touchdowns on the season which already is the eighth most in program history.
Andy Peters completed 14 of 28 passes for 155 yards and three touchdowns. Defensively,
Isaiah Griffin had an interception and team-best seven tackles and
Willie Nelson racked up a pair of sacks.
Arizona Christian (2-4, 1-3 Frontier Conference) took the opening kickoff on a 11-play, 70-yard drive for an early 7-0 lead.
College of Idaho (5-1, 3-1 Frontier Conference) came back with an eight play, 80-yard drive of its own to tie the game at 7 when Peters connected with
Ben Hruby for a 10-yard touchdown pass.
The host Firestorm regained the lead on a 14 play, 55-yard drive that ended on a 37-yard field goal by Abiel Lepe. ACU took the lead into the second quarter until the visitors from Caldwell, Idaho marched down the field after forcing its first three-and-out on the night. To spark the drive,
Allamar Alexander ran for 36 yards to move the ball into ACU territory. Then, after a pass interference call on the Firestorm, Peters connected with Schofield for 23-yard touchdown pass that put the Yotes ahead 14-10 with 9:52 left in the opening half.
The Yotes defense and
Isaiah Griffin disrupted the next drive with his second interception of the season. With a short field, the ball at the ACU 24 and six plays later, the Yotes went ahead 21-10 when Peters connected with
John Kreps for a three-yard touchdown pass. The big play in the drive was a 10-yard rush by
Hunter Gilbert on 3rd and 5.
The Cobb touchdown to start the second half stretched the lead to 28-10 and College of Idaho got back on the scoreboard on its second drive of the half when Schofield scored from two yards out. A key play in the drive was Peters finding
Cash Cowdery on fourth down for 11 yards and Alexander running for eight yards on a 3rd and 2 play.
The next drive saw
Caden Young score his third touchdown of the season as he ran it in from five yards out to stretch the lead to 42-10. The defense got into the scoring side of things on the next ACU possession when
Chip Mitchell recorded his third interception of the season. The grad student took the Tyler Duncan pass back 34 yards for a touchdown to make it a 49-10 contest.
ACU managed to cut into the lead with a touchdown early into the fourth quarter. Again, the Yotes had an answer when Young connected with Ed Berglund for a 64-yard touchdown pass for the final margin.
Next up for College of Idaho is a matchup against Montana State-Northern at Simplot Stadium on Saturday, October 14 at 1 p.m.
