CALDWELL, Idaho -
Jorge Fernandez recorded his first hat trick as a Yote, helping the Yotes clinch a spot in the CCC Championships, defeating Corban by a score of 5-0.
The first of Fernandez's goals came just 59 seconds in, as the Yotes would jump out to a quick 1-0 start. The goal would come off a rebound following a save from the Corban keeper. This would be the only Yotes goal of the half, as College of Idaho would take a 1-0 lead into halftime.
In the 54th minute, senior
Joao Bastos found the ball on his foot and was able to bury the ball past Isaac Pureco for a two goal Yotes lead. Following a foul inside the box,
Emil Powles stepped up to take a penalty kick and was able to convert, making it a three goal lead. Within a two minute span, Fernandez scored twice coming off assists from

The Yotes will return to Simplot Stadium one final time in the 2023 campaign, hosting Bushnell for Senior Day on Saturday.
