Yotes Return to Win Column with Win over Eastern Oregon

CALDWELL, Idaho - The receiving votes College of Idaho men's soccer squad returned to the win column on Friday, defeating Eastern Oregon by a score of 3-0.

Although only recording two saves in the game, Yotes goalkeeper Tom Baynard-Smith was able to keep the Mountaineers off the board in the contest, including a save after an EOU player was able to split the Yotes defenders and was left all alone with the keeper to beat.

On the offensive side of the ball, Dani Alejos was one of the stars of the game, contributing a pair of goals in the Yotes victory. In the 19th minute of the game, Alejos found the ball on his foot and beat Kole Anderson for his first goal of the contest. The game would head into the halftime break with the Yotes holding a 1-0 lead.

In the 73rd minute, Alejos once again found the ball to beat Anderson for his second of the contest, giving the Yotes a two goal lead. Just five minutes later, Pol Romero took a pass from Jorge Fernandez and was able to dribble around the keeper to score his only goal of the contest, as the game would end 3-0.

The Yotes offense was able to keep the Mountaineer offense in check, only allowing three shots in the contest.

The Yotes will return to the pitch to open the final home weekend of the season, hosting Corban next Friday.
