Lexi Mitchell had her fifth double double (15 points, 16 rebounds) to lead the College of Idaho women's basketball team to a 69-57 win over Walla Walla on Saturday night.
The Yotes (11-10, 6-9 CCC) led for nearly the entire contest in the win. With the contest tied at 10, College of Idaho scored the next seven points on its way to lead for the remainder of the contest. In the seven-point spurt, Mitchell scored four points and Graham hit her first of four 3-pointers in the win. In the win, College of Idaho forced 12 Walla Walla turnovers that they turned into 23 points.
The Wolves (4-14, 3-12 CCC) were able to land three in double figures – Chariah Daniels with 16, Jaliyah Casem with 13 and Savanah Zamora added 11.
In the second quarter, the Yotes went on a 13-2 run to take a 31-18 lead with 2:48 left in the opening half on its way to a 33-24 lead at the halftime break. Later in the game, College of Idaho would build a lead as large as 21 in the win as the Yotes led by double digits for the final 10 minutes of the game.
Next, College of Idaho will return to Oregon to face Warner Pacific on Friday, Feb. 3 at 5:30 p.m. (PST)/6:30 p.m. (MT) and Multnomah on Saturday, Feb. 4 at 3 p.m. (PST)/4 p.m. (MT). The Yotes defeated both teams in the earlier meeting in Caldwell with a 67-52 win over Multnomah and a 70-59 victory over Warner Pacific.
