CALDWELL, Idaho - No. 9 Lewis-Clark State outscored College of Idaho 21-8 in the third quarter to erase a 10-point halftime deficit to spoil the upset hopes of the host Yotes en route to a 61-58 win.
The Yotes (10-10, 5-9 CCC) were led by five 3-pointers from
Mia Austin, who scored 15 points in the loss.
Riley Frith added nine points and seven rebounds in the loss for College of Idaho, who led for 20:46 in a game that was tied six times and featured 14 lead changes.
Four Warriors (19-1, 14-0 CCC) scored in double figures, including a game-high 18 from Hannah Broyles - who made five 3-pointers. Callie Stevens added 14, Sara Muehlhausen and Ellie Sander each added 10.

College of Idaho stretched a one-point lead after one quarter to a ten-point lead in the second quarter. A stifling defense by the Yotes held LCSC to just four field goals and 26.7% (4-for-15) shooting in the quarter. The defensive intensity translated to the offensive side of the court as the Yotes hit 47.1% (8-for-17) shooting. College of Idaho closed out the quarter with a 14-5 run that included four-straight 3-pointers by Austin in the final 2:31.
A 10-1 spurt in the third quarter by the visiting Warriors tied the game at 47 and for the fourth time in the contest. Broyles banked in a 3-pointer to end the third quarter for the visitors to give them a 50-47 lead and its first lead since the 7:38 mark of the second quarter. The final quarter saw Austin hit her fifth 3-pointer of the game to tie the game at 50 with 7:32 left to play. Neither team was able to sustain a lead until LCSC went ahead for good on a Muehlhausen jumper with 3:31 left in the game. The Yotes cut the deficit to one, 59-58, when
Taryn Riley knocked down a pair of free throws with :07 left. Muehlhausen made a pair of free throws to close out the contest.
Next, College of Idaho will host Walla Walla on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the J.A. Albertson Activity Center.
