CALDWELL, Idaho - A second-straight week with three rushing touchdowns sparked the first shutout by the nationally-ranked College of Idaho football team to a 41-0 win over Eastern Oregon on Saturday afternoon at Simplot Stadium.
College of Idaho (4-0, 4-0 Frontier Conference) junior running back
Allamar Alexander rushed 21 times for 145 yards and three touchdowns to lead a potent offensive attack for the Yotes. The College of Idaho offense outgained the Mountaineers by a 497-194 margin that included 280 yards on the ground.Â
In addition to the efforts by Alexander, reigning Frontier Conference Offensive Player of the Week picked up 93 yards on 12 carries. Quarterbacks
Andy Peters and
Ryan Hibbs combined to throw three touchdowns to three-different receivers including the first touchdown receptions by
Will Janney and
Torey Watkins, respectively.
The College of Idaho defense was led by senior
Dorian Hardin, who had six solo tackles, four pass breakups and an interception in the win. The Yotes defense also registered four tackles for loss in the win.
Next, College of Idaho will travel to Helena, Montana to face Carroll at 1 p.m.
