CALDWELL, Idaho - The Eastern Oregon Mountaineers took both games of the Sunday slate, but the Yotes were able to clinch a playoff berth for the first time since 2017.
In game one, EOU took it 12-5. Four Mountaineers had multi-hit games, led by Brooks Dyer and Adrian Roa, each with three hits and two RBI's. Hector Carreon and Jamie Powell also had multihit games.
For the Yotes, the offense was lead by
Jonah Hultberg and
Alex McFarland-Smith. Both players had two hits and two RBI's in the game one loss.
EOU starter Slayder Watterson pitched a marathon, throwing 152 pitches and fell one out shy of a complete game, earning the win and improving his record to 2-2.
Game two saw the Mounties come out on top, winning 8-5. The offense was led by Easton Watterson and Garret Kollar who each had two hits. Adrian Roa led the squad in the finale with three RBI's.
C of I's offense was led once again by
Skyler Sadora, who had himself quite the weekend. He ended the game 3-4 with two RBI's, including a ninth inning home run. Sadora ended the weekend with a statline of 8-14 with three homeruns and 6 RBI's.
Next up for the Yotes is the final series of the season, a three-game slate against Linfield University at Wolfe Field, starting on Friday.
