Yotes fall to No. 4 Lewis-Clark State

LEWISTON, Idaho - The No. 4 Lewis-Clark State Warriors took down the Yotes in game three of the weekend, winning the contest 2-0.

The story of the game was dominant pitching from the Warriors staff. Utah Valley University transfer Dawson Day got the start for the Warriors on the mound. Day held the Yotes to just two hits in seven innings, while amassing 13 strikeouts en route to victory. The win moves Day's record to 6-0 on the season. Reliever Drake Borschowa would replace Day in the eighth inning, allowing two hits while striking out three, earning the save.

The Yotes offense saw hits from Skyler Sadora, Kirby Robertson, Ben Dudley, and Trevor Watkins. Kirby Robertson contributed a double to the Yotes offense.

The Warriors scoring got started in the third inning, as Riley Way drove in a run on a sacrifice fly, taking a 1-0 lead. The Yotes pitching would hold the Warriors offense scoreless until the seventh inning, when Coy Stout would drive in a run on a single to center field to take a 2-0 lead, which would end up being the final score.

Connor Root got the start on the mound for the Yotes, going six and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and two runs, while striking out six LCSC batters. Dimick Wood entered in relief, going an inning and a third, allowing two hits while also striking out two.

Up next for the Yotes is the series finale in Lewiston tomorrow at 11 a.m. PT / 12 p.m. MT.
