LEWISTON, Idaho - The College of Idaho baseball team dropped the series finale to No. 4 LC State, 9-6.
The Yotes started off the game hot, scoring the first three runs of the contest.
Alex McFarland-Smith got things started in the first inning, blasting a solo shot over the wall to give the Yotes a quick 1-0 lead.
Jonah Hultberg then drove in a run in the second inning with the bases loaded after he was hit by a pitch. McFarland was not done after hitting his first home run, as he hit is second blast of the game in the third inning to give the Yotes a 3-0 lead. The other three Yote RBI's came in the later innings from
Kirby Robertson and
Ben Gaff.Â
After falling behind early, the Warriors came back swinging for the fences, driving in nine unanswered runs to eventually take a 9-3 lead. The Warriors hit two home runs on the day thanks to Pu'ukani De Sa and A.J. Davis. Three Warriors had multi-hit games, led by Zach Threlfall with four.
Joe Ball earned his fourth win of the season for the Warriors, and
Ben Gaff was tabbed with the loss, as his record now stands at 1-6.
Up next for the Yotes is a matchup with Eastern Oregon next Saturday and Sunday at Wolfe Field.
