CALDWELL, Idaho – The College of Idaho men's lacrosse team broke an 8-8 tie with just under six minutes to play with three unanswered goals en route to an 11-8 win over Utah in the 2022 season opener for the Yotes.
C of I (1-0) was paced by a five-goal effort from
Loy Howard and a four-goal contribution from Dane Howard proved to be the spark in the season opening win and first win for first year head coach
Alan Morgan.
Casey Davies added three assists and
Brad Hale had an assist. Jay Brant picked up 19 ground balls in the win.
"The guys played hard for four quarters in the win as a team," said Morgan. "It wasn't always pretty but they did exactly what they needed to get the win. It was a great team victory and another step in the right direction.
Next, C of I will host the University of Idaho at Simplot Stadium on Saturday at 3 p.m.
