All-Around Team Effort Leads College of Idaho to 79-34 Win Over Walla Walla

COLLEGE PLACE, Washington - The College of Idaho won its third in a row in a 79-34 victory over host Walla Walla on Friday afternoon. In the win, the Yotes got a career-high 25 points from sophomore Taryn Riley.
 
College of Idaho, who raises its record to 8-4 overall and 3-3 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference, shot 53.6% from the field in the win. The win was an all-around team effort as the 45-point margin of victory is the most since a 55-point win against Bethesda on November 13, 2021.
 
In the win, Jada Reed tied a school record with 12 assists that is shared by Petra Lumpert (12/31/2016) and Mackenzie Royce (1/26/2019). Plus, Riley was joined in double figures by Sienna Riggle and Lexi Mitchell, who added 13 and 10 points, respectively. Mitchell also had a team-high eight rebounds in the victory. The College of Idaho bench outscored Walla Walla by an 18-0 margin.
 
Walla Walla (1-8, 0-6 CCC) was paced by a 12 point, 8 rebound effort by Chariah Daniels.
 
College of Idaho scored the first points of the game on a layup by Reed on its way to the victory. After a 19-11 lead after the opening quarter, the defensive intensity by the visitors saw the Yotes outscore the host Wolves by a 22-4 margin in the second quarter en route to the win.

Next, College of Idaho will face No. 10 Lewis-Clark State on Saturday at 5 p.m. (MT)/4 p.m. (PST).
