Oregon Tech Spoils Sharp-Shooting Day by College of Idaho Women's Basketball

Caldwell, Idaho – Five College of Idaho players scored in double figures, including Mia Austin who scored a team-high and career-high 20 in a 79-75 loss to Oregon Tech on Saturday. The visiting Owls were paced by a 29 point effort from Olivia Sprague, who made all of her 13 free-throw attempts in the win.
 
College of Idaho led for most of the first 30 minutes of  minutes of the game but the visitors from Klamath Falls, Oregon ended the third quarter with its first lead since the 7:24 mark of the opening quarter. With a 56-55 lead, the Owls started the fourth quarter on a 12-2 run on its way to the victory. Twice, including the final margin, College of Idaho cut the deficit to four.
 
The spurt spoiled a sharp shooting effort by College of Idaho, who made 14 3-pointers in the game. Its most in a game since they made 18 against Warner Pacific on February 1, 2014. Austin knocked down five 3-pointers on her way to 20 points. The last time that College of Idaho had a player with five 3-pointers was last season when Allie Cannon knocked down five against Lewis-Clark State on February 22. Jada Reed handed out a team-high five assists to go along with 10 points. Austin and Reed were joined in double figures by Lexi Mitchell, who scored a season-high 17, Sienna Riggle added 12 and Taryn Riley provided 10.
 
Along with the 29 from Sprague to lead Oregon Tech, she was joined in double figures by Maddyson Tull and Kennedy Tull, who had 14 and 11 points, respectively.
 
Next, College of Idaho will travel for the first time since the season opening weekend where they will face Eastern Oregon on Friday, December 9 at 5:30 p.m. (PT)/6:30 p.m. (MT).
