Caldwell, Idaho - The College of Idaho women's basketball team picked up a pair of double doubles from
Lexi Mitchell (11 points, 15 rebounds) and
Sienna Riggle (17 points, 13 rebounds) en route to a 70-59 win over Warner Pacific on Saturday afternoon.Â
College of Idaho (7-4, 2-3 CCC) knocked down seven three pointers in the win, including four from freshman
Mia Austin en route to 14 points. The last time the duo of Riggle and Mitchell both had a double double was in the 2021-22 season opener against Pacific Union on October 29, 2021. Plus,
Taryn Riley provided a solid all-around game with nine points, seven assists and five rebounds for the Yotes.Â
Warner Pacific (0-10, 0-5 CCC) were led by a game-high 24 points from McKeeley Tonlin. She was joined in double figures by Emily Brown, who added 15.Â
With the game tied at 8 with 4:55 left in the opening quarter, three-different Yotes -
Mia Austin,
Taryn Riley and Siena Riggle - scored the next seven points to put College of Idaho ahead for the remainder of the contest. The Yotes ended the first 20 minutes with nine-straight to end the half to take a 37-21 lead into the halftime break. The 16-point halftime lead is the biggest advantage of the season for College of Idaho - its biggest since a 31-point lead at the break against Pacific Union on October 29, 2021. The Knights would only get as close as eight.
Next, the Yotes will be off until December 30 when they travel to face Walla Walla at 1 p.m. (MT).Â
