CALDWELL, Idaho -
Sienna Riggle scored 20 points as College of Idaho dropped its first game of the season, losing to Montana Western by a 70-53 margin in the final game of the Caldwell Best Western Inn & Suites Classic on Saturday. Riggle has scored in double figures in all six games and at least 20 in three contests for the Yotes, who fall to 5-1.
Montana Western, who raises its record to 5-1, was led by a double double from Brynley Fitzgerald who game-high honors with 30 points and 11 rebounds.
After finding itself down 19-2 in the first quarter, College of Idaho found itself behind for the entire game. However, there was a lot of fight in the purple and white for the host Yotes.
Mia Austin had eight points in a key reserve role. Plus,
Lexi Mitchell had seven points, six rebounds, three steals and two blocks in an all-around game.
The Bulldogs, who led from start to finish, with seven different scorers as Mesa Davis added eight points and Jordan Sweeney had five assists, four rebounds and two points in the win.
Next, College of Idaho will turn its attention to Cascade Collegiate Conference play when they host Southern Oregon on Friday, December 2 at 5:30 p.m.
