Coyotes Split Games on Day 2 in Arizona

WADDELL, Ariz. – College of Idaho used a 14-hit attack to pick up a victory over Oklahoma Panhandle State in today's opener at the Calderone Classic, but fell victim to four Kansas Wesleyan home runs in a afternoon loss on Day 2 of the 2022 baseball season.

The Yotes (2-1) never trailed in the 10-8 morning victory over OPSU, but fell behind 10-1 after four innings in the 16-6 setback to KWU.

After OPSU (0-2) cut the margin to 5-3 in the fourth, the Coyotes plated three in the fifth, capped by a Ben Gaff seeing-eye single to regain the 5-run cushion. The Aggies got within 10-8 in the eighth, but Erik Wisenor got the final five outs for his second save of the young campaign.
