CORVALLIS, Ore. – College of Idaho outfielders
Matthew Clay and
Jonah Hultberg were honored as members of the 2021 All-Cascade Conference Team, announced today by the league office.
It marks the first time since the 2011 season that a pair of Coyote outfielders were honored by the league.
Clay had a banner senior season, hitting .315 with a team-best 42 RBI. He added nine doubles and 35 runs scored, while recording nine stolen bases. The native of Port Moody, B.C., was also one of nine CCC players named to the Gold Glove Team after posting a .983 fielding percentage on 118 defensive chances from his center field spot – the fifth Coyote outfielder in program history to earn the distinction.
Hultberg built on a strong freshman campaign that was cut short due to COVID-19 with and outstanding 2021 season. The Boise native hit a team-high .346 batting average with a .421 on-base percentage, leading the club with 63 hits and 41 runs scored, adding 10 doubles, two triples, three home runs and 19 RBI.
Lewis-Clark State first-baseman Brock Ephan was named CCC Player of the Year, LCSC's Jake Taylor was named Coach of the Year, with Corban right-hander Zack Simon named Pitcher of the Year.
