SPOKANE, Wash. –
Lane Maher broke his own school record in the 110-meter hurdles, hitting the NAIA "A" qualifying mark at the Buc Scoring Invitational at Boppel Track.
The freshman placed third overall in his heat filled with Division I athletes, with his time of 14.68 seconds shaving nine-hundredths of a second off the school mark, while bumping up his national mark from a provisional qualifier to a NAIA automatic mark.
In the sprints,
Casey Senethavilay narrowly missed a school record in the 200-meters, with his personal best time of 22.08 seconds just four-hundredths of a second off the mark set by both Bernie Hamilton in 1972 and Tyler Higby in 2016. Senethavilay also posted a seasonal-best time of 11.07 seconds in the 100-meters.
The Yotes posted four Cascade Conference qualifying marks in the middle distance events, as
Daniel Butler hit the standard in the 1,500-meters (4:00.84), both
Logan Hunt (15:15.92) and
Cole Campbell (15:17.01) met the mark in the 5,000-meters, as did
Jacob Russell in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (10:19.16).
In the throws,
Bryan Terry had another huge meet, winning both the discus (45.97 meters / 150 feet, 10 inches) and the shot put (15.41 meters / 50 feet, 6.75 inches), while placing third overall in the hammer throw (52.37 meters / 171 feet, 10 inches).
