ASHLAND, Ore. - A win in the high jump and three other Top-5 finishes helped College of Idaho's
Caleb Brown to a new Day 1 personal best score at the Cascade Conference Multi-Event Championships, presented by U.S. Bank, at Raider Stadium.
Brown scored 3,253 points through five events - over 150 points higher than his previous top Day 1 score - sitting in fifth-place overall in a 13 athlete field.
The senior had a convincing win in the high jump, securing 749 points with his clearance of 1.94 meters, while adding a fourth-place effort in the shot put (11.66 meters) and fifth-place finishes in both the long jump (6.19 meters) and the 400-meters (53.28 seconds).
Teammate
Nate Griswold sits in 11th-place with 2,910 points - with his best finish a ninth-place effort in the high jump (1.76 meters).
Southern Oregon's Joseph Dotson (3,481) and Eastern Oregon's T.J. Davis (3,426) are the leaders heading into the Day 2 events.
