SPOKANE, Wash. – A stellar performance by the 4x400-meter relay team keyed a big afternoon for The College of Idaho women's track and field team at the Sam Adams Invitational, hosted by Whitworth University, at Boppel Track.
The foursome of
Payge Durocher,
Roby Young,
Kiersten Lancaster and
Payton Durocher clocked a time of 3:54.71 to win the 4x4 – the No. 6 time in the NAIA this season.
Jessica Dorohov also had a quality day in the sprints – recording season-best marks of 12.44 seconds in the 100-meters and 25.54 seconds in the 200-meters.
Sophi Clay hit the conference qualifying mark in the 400-meters (59.67), with
Payton Durocher recording a personal-best time of 2:19.41 in the 800-meters. Lancaster also logged a win in the 100-meter hurdles (14.73).
In the jumps –
Kenna Jones and
Morgan Harrison cleared 1.56 meters (5-feet, 1.25 inches) in the high jump, with Clay leading the Yotes with a 4.99 meter (16 feet, 4.5 inches) mark in the long jump.
In the throws –
AaLea Kolb led C of I in the discus with a season-best mark of 40.35 meters (132 feet, 4 inches), with
Catylynn Duff posting marks of 50.98 meters (167 feet, 3 inches) in the hammer and 12.62 meters (41 feet, 5 inches) in the shot put.
Next week, the entire C of I team will travel to Ashland, Ore. – beginning with the CCC Multi-Event Championships on Thursday and Friday, with the Raider Invitational following Friday and Saturday.
